The Apple Watch is one of the most popular smart watches available in Australia. And there are a great range of different charging options to suit your lifestyle. I’ve tested and rounded up some of the best Apple Watch Chargers that are currently available in Australia.
The Best Apple Watch Chargers
I keep this list updated with the best Apple Watch Chargers currently available from Australian retailers. Here are some of the best options. Apple offers a couple of great options, but they are definitely on the more expensive side. Belkin offers a great range of super reliable MagSafe chargers that I love. And I’ve also included some alternative options including a portable Apple Watch charger.
Apple MagSafe Duo Charger
The Apple MagSafe Duo Charger is my goto travel charger. It has a MagSafe charger for your iPhone and Apple Watch. It can also charge AirPods (with a MagSafe or Wireless charging case) and AirPods Pro. This means I only need to take this one charger and a USB brick to charge all my devices.
The only downside is the Duo Charger uses a USB-C to Lightning cable. I would prefer USB-C to USB-C as then I could use the same cable to charge my iPad and MacBook Pro (although I usually just take my fast pro charger as the MacBook needs so much juice).
Apple Watch Magnetic Charging Dock
The Apple Watch Charging Dock is an upgrade to the basic Apple Watch Charger. It works both standing up and lying flat. So it also works as a nightstand dock. The surface is a suede like material.
Belkin 3-in-1 Charging Station
The Belkin 3-in-1 Charging Station charges an Apple Watch, an iPhone and AirPods in the one unit. Basically this will replace 3 charging bricks. It uses magnetic charging for all three devices. You will need the AirPods Magnetic Charging case. Even if you don’t use AirPods, I think this makes an excellent charging unit. I’ve found the Belkin chargers to be some of the best. My unit is completely silent
Belkin 3-in-1 BoostCharge Pro Station
The Belkin 3-in-1 BoostCharge Pro is a tree stand style charger for all of your Apple Devices. It’s an upgrade over the 3-in-1 Belkin charger above as it features 15w Fast Charging (compared to 7w). Not all Apple devices support fast charging but it’s still compatible with older devices.
The Boostcharge Pro Station comes in Black and White variants. I think the black model looks especially good with Apple Watch models.
Belkin Apple Watch Fast Charger
The Belkin Apple Watch Fast Charger is able to charge an Apple Watch 33% faster than a regular charger.
If you’re like me an wear your watch both at night for sleep tracking and during the day, it’s really handy to have a fast charger. I’ve found with fast charging I’ve been able to charge my watch enough while I have a shower to ensure it’s always charged.
Fast charging will only work on Apple Watch Series 7 and newer.
leQuiven Portable Apple Watch Charger
Have you ever needed to charge your Apple Watch while on the road? The leQuiven Portable Charger features a battery pack with enough juice to charge your watch 1-2 times. Perfect for camping or anywhere where you won’t have access to power.
Newdery Apple Watch Charger Stand
The Newdery Charger Stand has a built in charger. It’s heavier enough that it won’t move around when you place the watch onto it. I did find it to be a littler more fiddly than the standard apple charger. I do prefer the Lamicall Charging Stand below for this reason.
Lamicall Charging Stand
The Lamicall Charging Stand doesn’t come with a charger but it does fit the existing Apple Watch charger. I think it makes a great bedside stand for your Apple Watch. It’s made out of aluminium alloy so it looks fantastic. If you want to make use of your existing charging cable, but would like a nifty stand this is a great option.
What I looked for in a good Apple Watch Charger
When I put together this list and tested out a bunch of Apple Watch chargers, these were the things I was looking out for:
- Charge Time – The Apple Watch series 7 and newer support fast charging. Certain Apple Watch chargers can charge a little faster. If you wear your Apple Watch to bed, it might be worth investing in a fast charger so you can do a quick charge when you have a shower.
- Noise from Charger – I’ve found that many cheaper chargers have an annoying buzzing sound. Some expensive chargers also suffer from this!
- Flashing Lights or other Lights – If you have a charger next to your bed, you’re probably not going to want any flashing or bright lights.
- Convenience – I’ve tested some Apple Watch chargers that can be a tad fiddly. The best chargers have strong magnets to align the Apple Watch.
